Cheap eBook Store ?

Same ebooks… just cheaper!

Is it worth buying an ereader? I’m planning to buy the sony ereader but I’m not sure.

Ereaders like Amazon Kindle or Sony Reader use eInk which simulate reading of actual books, they are more suitable for long hours reading. Computer has backlight, and it will harm our eyes for long reading. Just imagine you’re staring at the computer screen for a long time…

Between the Amazon Kindle and Sony Digital Reader, I’ll suggest the Kindle because it has free wireless and text-to-speech function. There are more ebooks you can find available for the Kindle too. There are some good comparison between them here:

the difference between the two is the ereader is a smaller machine and more portable than a laptop.
the problem with ereader is that sometimes you cannot import ebooks into it and can only buy certain titles. where as you can get ebooks from anywhere on the net usually for free which will run on a laptop. do your homework to find out what restrictions the ereader has before you buy

It’s much more portable. It’s also more comfortable to click a button once a page instead of trying to scroll on your computer while reading.

Well, I just got one, and it’s awesome.
I’m going crazy trying to find books I want to read, though.
Don’t invest until you know where you’re getting your books.
I love the screen! I hope that if you buy it you have more luck with the book selection :D

E-Readers are great! it saves you allot of money in the long term, since e-books are often 3/4 of the price of a real book, so it pays for itself soon.

Choosing a good e-reader is bit of a different beast. There are really expensive ones with a 9 inch screen which are really nice, like the Kindle DX, Sony Daily, they run over 300+

If you are looking for an entry level e-reader I would go with the barnes and noble nook, for around 249 or you can on a budget go with the new kobo ereader, which is around 149 and is run by kobo book store.

The main difference between reading on the pc and reading with an e-reader, is e-readers have a different display technology, its called e-ink, its really easy on the eyes, where as a computer is backlite, and it burns your eyes after staring at it for too long.

E-Readers are often really portable, a nice 6 inch one fits in your back pocket, and is more portable then a laptop or netbook to read.

check out the following 2 links to learn more about e-readers and decide what one is for you.
