Ive recently heard about the ereader or ebook. I know they have been out for a while, but I just started looking into it.
I was wondering what exactly they are. I love to read but my books are starting to take up ALOT of space (I do like to read some books several times).
If someone can explain to me how they work, how much it is to put books onto the reader, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
The best ereader right nowis the Amazon Kindle. I own the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. Basically, Amazon produces this device, and it makes a lot of books become available in electronic version. There are over 350,000 Kindle books that we can buy and read on the Kindle right now, and the number of books available is keep on increasing (I remember there are only 270,000 Kindle books when I bought my Kindle a few months ago).
I like my Kindle because I can buy books at a cheaper rate compared to actual books, and I can replace all heavy books with this handy device. I can bring it wherever I want to, so I can utilize my time whenever I’ve some free time (like I’m waiting for friends, shuttle bus, or whatever).
I like to read and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink work very well, it is really like reading books… Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don’t feel tired… And now I prefer to keep and organize all my books on my Kindle rather than organizing all the physical books, it is really much more convenient.
I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get my Kindle:

Finally, in case you don’t know, Amazon has put a price slash on the Kindle 2 just before Christmas, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support… So take the chance if you want it.
Hope it helps
I have ebooks that I can read from my laptop. I have downloaded a free digital ereader from Adobe and I’ve also downloaded free ebooks from different websites. The books have to be available in an ebook format (like .pub) for me to read them. There are other readers like the Kindle, but I’m not sure how those work.

an ereader is a portable system that holds ebooks. ebooks are basically the same as normal books except you can store many on one ereader and choose to read any when you want. ereaders can be purchased from waterstones for about 150-200 pounds ebooks can be purchased from many websites for often the same as the rrp. They work on a similar basis as itunes with an ebook library and the ereader is synced to it. Hope it helps.

Let me pick Amazon Kindle as an example of ereaders, to make it easy to understand. There is a good simple article here talking about how does the Amazon Kindle work:

I love my Kindle ereader very much. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite a lot of money. Right now I’ve read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don’t feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are in white color… I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle
I’ll suggest you to read this review too, it outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle:

Hope this helps.
