I just need some reviews…and the tech specs?
Does it have a back light? How long does the battery last? How much do the books cost (range) ? Is it better then the Kindle ? Any other important things throw in there, PLEASE!
All ebook readers doesn’t have backlight, but you can get a small extra light that you can clip on the reader. It works like reading books, just turn on the light if you want to read in the dark. The battery lasts for around a week, and books generally cost $10 - $15 (so books on the Nook is more expensive than books on the Kindle).
Between the Nook and the Kindle, I’ve mentioned pretty much between the two here:

So my vote goes to the Kindle.
The refurbished version is cheaper, but it only has free wireless within U.S., while the new Kindle has free international wireless. And you know, Amazon gave a price drop for the Kindle 2 just before Xmas. It is now at a really good price.
Hope this helps.

well, i can’t tell you too much because mines coming tomorrow but i can tell you what i learned from research..
there is NO backlight. it’s supposed to look like a printed page (its called electronic ink, or e-ink) so it doesnt hurt your eyes after hours of reading. (but the touch screen on the bottom is lit, obviously =] )
the battery lasts 10 days of read time (the e-ink display doesnt draw power to keep the image on the screen, just to change it so you can have a picture on your nook for hours and you will use NO energy, given youre not using the touch screen.), but shorter (probably around 5 or so, but i’s just making an educated guess) if you’re downloading books or using the touch screen alot.
a big majority of the books are under 10 dollars (usually the best sellers are the 9.99 ones, and im sure there are probably some over 10) but you save ALOT compared to the hard copy. and theres something like over half a million free e-books. =]
i cant tell you that the nook is better than the kindle, becuase i dont own a kindle. or a nook (yet =]] )
i have heard (and saw first hand on the demo nook in the b&n store) that the page turning is a little laggy on the nook, but i heard that it is fixable with software updates, but i’m not sure because i’m not really good with that tech-y stuff.
and i guess the kindle has a bigger newspaper subscription selection than the nook? that doesnt really phase me because i dont care about newspapers..
and supposedly the books on amazon are slightly cheaper.
BUT you can side load any ebooks you already own onto your nook via usb cable or memory card (you can put up to a 16 gb memory card in your nook, thats roughly 18000 books) onto your nook so MAYBE you can buy ebooks off amazon and put them on your nook? i’m not sure someone will have to test that out.
but the nook looks alot nicer than the kindle and it feels nice in your hands =]
**EDIT**
i just got my nook yesterday and theres a software update that speeds up the page turns, so its good =]]

No backlight and you’ll need to get an extra light. Like the Amazon Kindle, you should get a light like this one:

I own the Kindle 2. I’ll say you should definitely choose the Kindle instead of the Nook because books on it are much cheaper, other than the internet browsing and text-to-speech function that is only available on the Amazon Kindle.
And I remember I read this review when I decided to get my Kindle:

Ebook readers do not have backlight. You should be able to find specification for the Nook here:

I’ll suggest you to get the Kindle instead of the Nook, it is much more mature. There are much more selection of books too.
Read the article here, it mentioned the Kindle, Barnes and Nobles and other ebook readers by the end of the review:
