Virtually everyone I know does it.
No, because what a lot of people don’t know is that the artist receives very little money from their albums. This is why they have to tour, because their record label takes something like 90% of the income.
Your question would be more accurately worded as "Has anyone ever felt guilty for pirating music because it left an already filthy-rich suit at a record label, who doesn’t even do f*cking anything other than sign an artist and leech off of them, a few dollars poorer, making it so they might have to get a slightly smaller mansion or private jet?" Those bastards don’t deserve a dime of my money. If you want to support an artist, go see them in concert.
I should also note that music is ridiculously priced nowadays. A dollar per song? Seriously? I have 12,000 songs in my library, so buying it all legally would’ve cost me a third of an average annual salary. That’s freakin’ insane. And what’s more, you don’t even know if you like the music until you buy it! Legitimately buying a new CD is literally a gamble. What if you buy it and hate it? Well too bad, you’re out $10+.No thanks.

Somewhat. But that’s why I support the bands/authors by buying their CD’s/books if I enjoy their work. I just believe in "try before you buy".

Not at all.
Hmmm, I wonder if Michael Jackson ever felt guilty about taking $18 for a plastic CD with 10 short songs.

These thieves have absolutely no idea how the real world works OR they fully understand the long term consequences of their actions and simply do not care - selfish and arrogant.
Many new artists who might have had a bright future are getting out of the business fast once they see the level of theft going on on the Internet. Why work if selfish immature random strangers are simply going to deprive you of your earnings - not actively stealing them, but preventing you from getting them

If virutally everyone you knew jumped off a bridge…?
I have only ever used pirated media as a ‘test run’. If I liked the album, book or whatever, I went out and bought the actual item. If I didn’t feel like it was worth my money, I deleted it. Now I realize that technically, I’m probably working in a grey area of ethics and could probably get in just as much trouble for downloading in the first place, but everything I have, I paid for. You feel guilty because you’re stealing and you know its wrong.
