Same ebooks… just cheaper!

My daughter is a huge book worm and I want to get her the Kindle because of the book capacity. She wants something that plays mp3’s as well which I think the kindle does but Im wondering if there is a more "fun" e book because the kindle looks kinda boring?

I’ve given a comparison of the three most popular ebook readers right now in the market here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100410204105AApV1G6

Yes, the Kindle can play MP3 files, as you can see "Listening to Music" on the official page here:

Hope it helps :)

I have two Sony Readers the 505 and the Touch version and love them both. There are other versions too from Sony.

I would certainly have loved one when I was 10, unfortunately 40 years ago we only had printed books!

I wouldn’t buy a 10 year-old a Kindle. Kids lose things, other kids kids will mess with it, etc. It turns reading — something she enjoys now — into a huge responsibility, and could possibly end he love of reading. Instead, take her to the public library, to used bookstores, or spend the $250 on books from eBay or similar sites. There’s nothing like looking at a shelf full of books you’ve loved — something e-readers can’t replace.

Hm, because she wants mp3 playbck, you might consider the Nook? Both the Nook and the Kindle have 2GB of internal storage, but the Nook allows for additional storage with microSD cards, which means extra space for the mp3s. So you could throw in a 16GB microSD card loaded with her music or audiobooks.

It doesn’t look much more exciting than the Kindle, but you could throw a cover on it:

You can also change the background image for the home screen and put in an image collection to make a screensaver that goes to a new image each time you put it in sleep mode.

The Sony readers are another possibility. The Sony pocket reader is nice for a basic reader, but has a lot less storage and can’t play mp3s. The Sony touch reader can play mp3s and comes in different colors, but no wifi or 3G connection, and I’ve heard the screen has some issues with glare because of the touchscreen overlay.

The nice thing about the Sony readers and the Nook is you can take her to see them in person to see what she thinks. Head to Barnes and Noble’s customer service desk to look at the Nook, and most Best Buys seem to have the Sony readers on display.

I think the Kindle can well suit the need of 10 years old child. Especially it has the text-to-speech function that can read books aloud, children will love it for sure.

The is a category here for books available on the Kindle that are suitable for children:

I would recommend you buying kindle.Kindle is sure a worth buying. Wireless is a unique feature I will say and that’s make really value for money. 3G wireless and global coverage, I personally travel a lot and really worthy for me. You can have any newspaper at any place and also they are cheaper. The best selling value for the Kindle is convenience for the travel, it’s pretty handy and easy to carry anywhere with you. The other important thing matters to me are speedy for downloading books and reading material. Also it allow around average size of 1500 books and reading material to store, so is a significant amount of storage space to bring with you. In one line I can say “you are carrying your book shelf with you”.
Also one of the other feature of Kindle is it’s E-INK screen technology that don’t glare in any light so no strain to eyes and you can read for hours.

Also you save a lot in compare to the actual books, the books on kindle are really cheaper so I have saved a lot till now. Also there are plenty of books on kindle to choose. Also it has so good features such as Text-To-Speech which is really useful when you get bored or doing some other activity.

Amazon Kindle Home for more info,
