I have a 2 almost 3 year old we love story time but books at walmart and everywhere else are like 5 bucks for the good ones in her age group and she scribbles in them sometimes so i know there are free books somewhere online i just cannot find them. The library is not an option books may be injured during their stay.

Yard sales, yard sales, yard sales. Don’t pass them by. They practically give them away. Any germs will be offset by the knowledge your children will gain.

I have a sony e reader and was wondering if there was a way to get free books? if so which is the best?

There are some websites like these two, where you can find more than ten thousand free books for an ebook reader:

http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

http://manybooks.net/

BTW, I’ve given a detailed review on the Sony Reader and comparison with the Kindle here, guess you’ll be interested:

Hope this helps.

I’ve been trying to find sites but I cant seem to find any good ones that allow me to read complete science books oline for free.

See if your public library has their reference "books" online that you can read from home. That would be legal.

Downloading a pirate PDF of a science book would be stealing from the author.

I searched on YahooAnswers and saw a lot of people asking where to get free books from for the kindle. There were a lot of websites suggested that have free books. My question is, how do you get these on your kindle?? I went to the kindle store and wasn’t able to sort by price (which was another suggestion). Do I need to hook my kindle up to my laptop? Help!!!

Just see here on how to put the books on your Kindle. If the books are free, you don’t have to pay for them:

And some free books and very cheap books can be found or mentioned here:

Do you get some free e-books (stuff normally you will have to pay) when you buy a kindle?

I’m sorry that there is no book coming with the Kindle. However, there are quite a lot of free books in the public domain that you can find here on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D154606011%26redirect%3Dtrue%26p%255F36%3D0-0&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Some website like this one also provide a lot of free books readable on the Kindle:

http://gutenberg.org/

BTW, I like my Kindle 2 very much. I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get my Kindle:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR2DUM7S4XW06QN%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ASIN%3DB00154JDAI%26nodeID%3D%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Fpr%255Fcmt&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Finally, in case you don’t know, Amazon has just put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support… So take the chance if you want it.

Hope it helps :)

Some books on amazon that are available for kindle are free, but are they real? Or are they scams? And has anyone ever downloaded one of these?

I often get those free ebooks on Amazon to read on my Kindle device, when I have some time. They are free because they are in the public domain, so everyone have the right to publish it. Since the cost of ebooks are very low, so Amazon can just provide them for free.

You can get the full list of free ebooks here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D154606011%26redirect%3Dtrue%26p%255F36%3D0-0&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

And in case you’re considering to get the Kindle device, here the review I read when I decided to get my device:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR2DUM7S4XW06QN%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ASIN%3DB00154JDAI%26nodeID%3D%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Fpr%255Fcmt&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Do you know any website that has free online books for teenage girls?

I’ve been looking for some kind of website that has free online books about teenage girls (I mean for teenage girls kinda books.)

Anything you know would be useful.
Thanks in Advance.

Any classics would be great. Gutenberg is best for that. 27,000+ and counting.

However authors write books to make money. Respect that. Books written 1923 and on are under copyright protection. It is illegal to read them online unless the author gives permission. Most don’t because they feel it cuts sales.

Here is what Meg Cabot has to say about epiracy.

"But what about the many hard-working people who edited, copy-edited, copy-set, printed, designed, publicized, and did whatever else was necessary to get that book into print? The publishing industry is in big trouble right now, just like all those other industries we hear about on TV every night during the evening news…only no one is bailing the publishing industry out.

So publishers are having to lay people off, shut down whole divisions, and cancel book contracts. Projects some of us have been working on are being “post-poned indefinitely.” One of my best friends just got laid off from her job last week. And of course, bookstores all over the country are having to shut down due to flagging sales.

This is just wrong."
