Cheap eBook Store ?

This has probably been asked already, but I am still unable to find a straight enough answer. So here goes. I am thinking of purchasing an Amazon Kindle and would like to know if the device can handle the PDF documents from Adobe Reader. I have several e-books I want to add to the eReader. I need to know if the Kindle can support these files.

Any assistance/help is most welcome.

The latest Kindle DX on May 6th, 2009, the Kindle has a larger screen and can support PDF files. Amazon.com 2009 and 3 March in Apple’s App Store release a named Kindle for iPhone application. This application enables iPhone and iPod touch users in their own iPhone or iPod touch to browse content on Kindle. Whereas the application for Windows users of Kindle for PC software is also available as a download for free from Amazon .
The meaning is “Kindle” and “Kindle 2” may have no function of recognizing a pdf . Which versions are yours?

First e-book, not well versed in computers, have pics stored in Picassa, Narrative in word

Not sure your document would qualify as an e-book but

go to beginning of doc - add a blank page - and type or insert picture for cover. Locate pics in picassa and add them to word . Lastly save as pdf

BTW if you have chapters in your book - its super easy to create a table of contents

My partner has many paper books and is considering getting a Kindle to save space, however we don’t want to re-buy all of the books in Kindle format (some of which cost more in the Kindle version than the paper one!!).

Is there any way to send paper books to Amazon in exchange for the Kindle version? Or maybe a site that will exchange paper books for an E-copy / Kindle version? I couldn’t find anything on Google or Amazon about this.

You can sell your paper copies second-hand on Amazon and use the money to buy Kindle versions.

For older books which are out of copyright, the Kindle versions are free (go look on Project Gutenberg) so any money you make from the paper versions can go towards buying your newer Kindle books.

Never. Just like radio didn’t stop people from reading books, and television didn’t stop people from reading books, and the Internet didn’t stop people from reading books … electronic readers aren’t going to stop them either.

I would like to learn how to create websites. What are some good books to learn and what would be the best path (i.e. html then xhtml then PHP, etc.)? Thanks for your thoughts!

I have read the E.E. Knight series about the dragons and eragon and liked them a lot. I would like to read some books with dragons as the main character and i love thick books. I tryed to read the dragonriders of pern series but it was kinda boring. Please help!
