I am considering the Nook ereader and it says it displays very well in sunlight but what about if you are reading it at night? Does it have a back lightl can you see the screen by small lamp light? or having 1 light on in the car reading at night? Is it easy to read the font or hard on your eyes? Is it worth the amount of money it is? Is there a better one out there than it? please respond below and add any other comments you have about it. thanks.

No, it doesn’t have backlight. Actually it is better for reading.

Not sure if it helps, but I own the Kindle 2. If you ask me to choose again now, I’ll still go for the Kindle instead of the Nook, because I think the web browsing function is rather important (the Nook doesn’t even have a web browser). The free internet (and now it is free international internet) plus the web browser allow me to look for information whenever I’m in need. It is really a cool feature that cannot be missed. And right now it is free for both the U.S. and many other countries, it is just incredible when you bring it to trip.

And indeed, the Kindle has more available books, and ebooks are cheaper on the Kindle as well (Barnes and Nobles always count in the one million free books from Google, which can also be read on the Kindle. For Sony, many users complain it is difficult to find books for it).

And I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get my Kindle:

You can get a light like this if you want to read at night:

Hope it helps :)

My daughter is a huge book worm and I want to get her the Kindle because of the book capacity. She wants something that plays mp3’s as well which I think the kindle does but Im wondering if there is a more "fun" e book because the kindle looks kinda boring?

I’ve given a comparison of the three most popular ebook readers right now in the market here:

Yes, the Kindle can play MP3 files, as you can see "Listening to Music" on the official page here:

Hope it helps :)

Most books that are already in e-format are found online for free through different websites. For example, if I wanted the book, Under the Dome, by Stephen King, I can find it for online for free by downloading the pdf format of it. Is it illegal to do that? If so, why?

It is a copyright violation because the publisher owns the rights to distribution of that particular arrangement of words known as a novel. By downloading it without paying (or offering for free, as the case may be), the book has been distributed without the consent of the publisher, who has lost a sale. How is it different from a library book? Libraries lend originals…they don’t distribute digital copies.

Why would I waste my time? It’s not like anyone will buy something I’ve thrown together in a rush.
